Adobe Photoshop Tricks

This photo was taken in an indoor skateboard rink in Dalton, GA.

 Here are the steps to create the effect.

1. Open the image that you want to edit in Adobe Photoshop.

2. Click on Filter Gallery under Filter.

3. Click the Colored Pencil filter. Make some adjustments to enhance the image.

4. Under Image click Adjustments, then on Brightness/Contrast. Increase the contrast to define and bring out the image.

Light Painting

Transforming the light painting technique photo in to a piece of kaleidoscope art. 

I learned how to photograph light painting in a forum at the photography club. We played and experimented with a lot of different light sources. The image below seemed to work for what I had in mind, since it has interesting lines that seem to have texture as well.

After cropping the image following steps were taken in Photoshop.

Then a couple of kaleidoscope filters in Photoshop were applied to create the following images.

   

"Rusty Window"

              This image is created in Photoshop. The window is from a train and the surrounding rust is the peeled paint on the train that rusted over time. I gave it a monochromatic tone, which gives a mysterious feel to the image.

              I won second place at the photography club. This is my first winning image since I started entering in the monthly competitions.

Giraffelant

Hey guys,

            Recently I blended three different photos of animals and gave birth to a completely new and rare digital species :-). I took these photos at our local Zoo in Atlanta. It was a fun project.

           Its called Giraffelant. I used two different photos of the same elephant to get this image . The pose of one elephant seemed to work better with the head in a different photo. The skin is from a photo of a giraffe. In photoshop I was able to combine all three photos and transform it to the image you see above.

The mix between Zebra and Rhino. I named it Zebraceros.

"Curved Road"

Second place winner at our local photography club.

    This photo was taken in Asheville, NC. We went on a family vacation. On our way back we stopped for sightseeing. I don't know if you can tell, but if you look really hard, you can see that it was drizzling. I was able to get a shot of this tunnel in time, cause I had to run back to our car since it started to pour right after...LOL.

      I entered it in the montly competition at our local photography club and won second place.

       
             I attended a seminar not long ago in Atlanta. Adobe Creative Tour was in the town. I learned some great tips that I utilized to create the following image. With combining some of the techniques I learned at the seminar and after browsing the web for tutorials, I have more understanding on how to use different tools in Adobe Photoshop that I haven't experimented with before. I will show you what I have been up to.

             I took this image of sunrise, that I photographed at our neighborhood lake for the background, and edited it to enhance the colors.

 This is the other iamge of a tree that I used to create the overlay effect after editing in Photoshop.

The result
