"Antler Project"

This is my Antler Project. I have a knack of creating new things out of otherwise boring objects. When I took this photo, I was inspired by the organic shape of the antlers. I wanted to do something special and create something unique.

After separating the antlers in Adobe Photoshop, this is what I got.

I created the following image, by rotating and flipping the antlers. Arranging them in a way that look esthetically pleasing to the eyes.

Pattern A

After achieving the following intricate design....

Pattern B

I integrated the pattern with a photo of a flower and used the pattern as a vignette.

Later, I turned the antler motif in to a tile.... And this is what I got!  By using pattern A in a repetitive manner, I was able to create the following.

Pattern A

By cropping a part of pattern B, and using it as a tile I also achieved this...

Recently I have been playing in Photoshop with some patterns. The tiles below are from  photographs of a giraffe and a zebra. I put a filter on the tiles to even it out. Then, arranged them in Photoshop to create a pattern.

So, I have been working on some patterns. Here are the details..... I carved a piece of rubber carving block, then I brushed it with acrylic paint, ink tends to work better but since I didn't have any available I used acrylic paint. After brushing the paint on the carved block, I stamped it on a piece of paper and got the following motif. Then I scanned it in the computer and started experimenting with it in Photoshop. Here are some of the different patterens I came up with.
